BIM Project Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
– Responsible for day-to-day virtual design, project delivery, coordination, and quality control tasks.
– Work under the direction of Project Director and/or Project Managers to deliver modeling, clash detection/resolution, coordinated drawings, shop drawings, simulations, animations, and renderings as needed to meet the needs of VIATechnik’s clients.
– Track, collect, and implement RFI responses, cut sheet information, equipment information, and client directives on large MEP coordination projects.
– Develop expertise in software such as Revit, Autocad, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Microstation, 360 Glue, Sketchup, Fuzor, Recap, Unreal, and Edgewise to solve complex VDC challenges.
– Provide quality control and checking of Specialist work on VDC projects.
– Ensure project delivery follows scope and preemptively identify potential out-of-scope items and report to Project Director.
– Actively seek out improved workflows and strategies for delivering work.
– Research new software, construction problems, and technical solutions.
– Develop training content to convey research to other VIATechnik personnel.
– Develop an understanding of VIATechnik’s internal processes and personnel with the goal of becoming a project manager.
– Assist Project Director in preparing invoices, proposals, and marketing material.

Project Manager – Construction and Engineering Services

9623VIATechnik is looking for highly driven, smart, and passionate engineers to help us transform the AEC industry.  We are a fast growing company that takes advantage of our technology and talent to deliver results.  Our clients are ENR Top 100 Companies whose projects range from civil structures to landmark commercial developments.  Founded by Stanford engineering graduates, VIATechnik is disrupting the AEC industry and is experiencing significant traction and growth across the range of services it provides. Project managers will interact with clients on a daily basis and interface with our global team. We specialize in offering customized engineering services like BIM, estimating, scheduling, and LEED coordination.

The Project Manager will work on unique and interesting projects and learn more than any other civil engineering career. The Project Manager will manage his/her own team and report to the COO. Work includes coordinating with design and engineering team, interfacing with the client, and managing his/her team to complete drafting, steel detailing, and construction project administration on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
– Interact with client to gain sufficient understanding of project details.
– Obtain information and approvals required from the owner, architect, and engineers.
– Work with global team to deliver project submittals.
– Work with QC team to ensure a zero defect product.
– Act as final QC before project submittal.
– Build team capabilities.
– Manage project closeout, prepare RFIs.
– Perform other duties as assigned like improving operational effectiveness, marketing strategy, new business expansion, etc.

Qualifications
Four-year college degree with at least 2 years of engineering or construction management training. Knowledge of estimating, construction costs, scheduling, purchasing, and engineering principals and techniques, understanding of drawings and specifications, understanding of structural engineering and CAD drafting. Strong computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft office suite of programs, Autodesk, Bentley, and Primavera knowledge desirable.
