VIATechnik Joins Stanford’s Center for Integrated Facilities Engineering (CIFE)

CHICAGO, IL, Dec. 18, 2014 – Co-founders Danielle Dy Buncio and Anton Dy Buncio, of construction services company VIATechnik, have taken yet another integral step towards furthering the advancement of Virtual Design and Construction in the AEC community. As new members of Stanford University’s Center for Integrated Facilities Engineering (CIFE), VIATechnik is well on its way, along with several other industry leaders, to advancing construction and engineering innovation worldwide.

The mission of Stanford CIFE is clear: “The CIFE mission is to be the world’s premier academic research center for Virtual Design and Construction of Architecture – Engineering – Construction (AEC) industry projects.” With a center that brings together the support, education, and hub of great thinkers alike, it is only right for VIATechnik to become a part of such a pioneering group of leaders.

VIATechnik co-founders, both Stanford University engineering alumni, join the organization along with other industry leaders working in Virtual Design and Construction including construction firms Skanska, DPR, and Mortenson, leading technology creators like Bentley and Autodesk, and the Imagineering leaders at Disney. “We are both excited and humbled to be at the same table with key innovators and industry influencers, collaborating to shape the future of virtual design and construction,” says Danielle Dy Buncio.

Stanford CIFE is keen on their vision to help members develop, learn and apply VDC principles and methods to give projects their maximum value and to assist member organizations in achieving their most groundbreaking objectives through reliable design, as well as through engineering construction and management so member organizations can develop and operate sustainable facilities.
