Atrium Healthcare & VIATechnik
VIATechnik Approach
Over the past twelve years, VIATechnik has emerged as a premier leader in BIM and VDC within the Design, Construction, and Building Operations industries. As part of this evolution, we have crafted and continuously refined a comprehensive three-phase approach—Strategy, Execution, and Enablement—designed to foster strong, lasting partnerships with our owner clients.
The Strategy phase is essential in aligning all stakeholders on a unified vision and clear goals, ensuring that everyone is working toward the same objectives. During the Execution phase, we serve as a trusted partner, guiding and collaborating with our clients and their stakeholders throughout their digital journey, providing expertise and handson support at every step. Finally, the Enablement phase ensures that clients are equipped for long-term success, with continued support even after the project is complete, preventing the loss of the value gained during the project and offering continued support even after the project is complete.
This proven methodology has consistently delivered results, providing our clients not only with successful project outcomes but also the confidence that they have a reliable partner throughout the entire process and beyond.
SOP Module
The partnership between Atrium Health and VIATechnik emerged from the need for a more efficient process to deploy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to POM team members across multiple sites. Following several engagements and discovery sessions, VIATechnik developed a new module to be built on its Voyager Twin platform. This module effectively translates the information and workflows from standard Task Information Sheet (TIS) documents into an intuitive and interactive interface for end-users, streamlining the SOP management process.
The SOP Module provides POM team members with a structured workflow to execute SOPs, whether they are planned tasks or emergency responses. Key features include a user-friendly interface that allows easy navigation through each step of an SOP, as well as the ability to attach supporting materials like BIM Viewpoints, documents, drawings, and photos to individual steps. These features enhance clarity, ensure consistency, and provide the necessary context for team members to execute SOPs accurately and efficiently. This solution improves both the accessibility and usability of SOPs, empowering the POM teams to respond quickly and effectively.
Unlocking Future Value
Over a decade ago, Atrium Health implemented a comprehensive handover process. The Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) team requires project teams to deliver detailed drawings, BIM models, asset information, and other building documentation at project closeout. While this process is effective for documenting the building and ensuring accurate information is available for Day 2 planning and projects, it does not directly benefit the Plant Operations Management (POM) team.
The introduction of the SOP module is the first step toward unlocking untapped value for the POM team. Although the SOP module offers significant benefits, there is still more value to be gained from the current closeout process. VIATechnik’s strategy, execution, and enablement framework will identify additional value and potential improvements to the handover process. Implementing these enhancements will create a critical link between the PDC and POM teams.
