BIM/VDC Summer Internship Program
Spend a summer building the digital models, workflows, and data that shape how projects get built.
Real Work on Real Projects
Interns join a studio team and contribute to active client work. Depending on your team, that can mean BIM coordination and clash detection, model authoring, VR and visualization, computational design, or digital twin and facilities data.
You are given the same tools, the same project context, and the same feedback as anyone else on the team. Your work gets reviewed, and it goes into the project.
How the Summer Works
A Team and a Mentor
Over eight weeks you are placed on a studio team with a manager who owns your assignments and a mentor who answers the day-to-day questions.
Structured Onboarding
Your first week covers our tools, standards, and workflows. You also get access to VIATechnik University, our internal learning platform, for self-paced technical training throughout the summer.
A Final Presentation
You close out the summer by presenting your work to studio leadership. It is a chance to show what you built and what you learned.
Who We’re Looking For
We look for students in architecture, civil or structural engineering, construction management, MEP, computer science, or a related field, typically entering their junior or senior year or a graduate program.
Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks, or similar tools helps. Curiosity, follow-through, and a willingness to ask questions matter more.
Where You’ll Be
The program is onsite or hybrid out of our Chicago and New York offices, and we are open to remote for the right candidate. US work authorization is required.
